New Moon in Aries + Solar Eclipse
Our New Moon in Aries goes exact on Thursday 20 April at 2.12pm (AEST) before the moon moves into Taurus at 2.30pm. Technically this is a new moon in the fire sign of Aries, however there will be a strong element of grounding your energy with Taurus approaching minutes later.
A new moon is always a time that marks new beginnings and an important phase in which to refresh your intentions.
With an energy like Aries, the intention you set will have the drive and motivation behind it. Also with Taurus (bull) energy close by, you will be able to ground your intentions with strong willpower.
IT’S IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR INTENTION IS FOR THIS NEXT MONTH.
Not only is this an interesting new moon, being with Aries twice in a row, we will also experience the beginning of eclipse season.
This new moon is coupled with a Solar Eclipse, which will be partially visible in Byron Bay, Australia. (The next time we get to see a partial eclipse will be in another two years time!)
Solar eclipses happen only at the new moon phase, when the Moon is between Earth and the Sun. During a solar eclipse, the Moon casts a shadow on Earth, and blocks or partially blocks our view of the Sun.
SOLAR ECLIPSE SYMBOLISM
When we experience a solar eclipse, we may feel extra tired or ‘wiped’, so drink plenty of water and cancel plans so you can plan self care nights and sleep well.
Darkness falls upon the Earth during a solar eclipse, which can heighten fears and anxiety. Be in a comfortable environment, good company, and take time to do your rituals.
Your rituals can involve communing with nature, journalling, dancing, singing, doing something that fills your heart and soul.
