Rising from the ashes

It was around my 38th birthday when the truth became impossible to ignore. The concern etched on the faces of my family and my best friend reflected back to me a reality I didn’t want to face. I had lost nearly two dress sizes, shrinking to an unhealthy size 6 and rapidly heading toward a size 4. My anxiety was visible to everyone but me. I was in complete denial.

I was avoiding the decision I knew deep down I had to make: Leave him.
